FeaturedAbout Candidate
Currently, I am completing an internship at the Science Diplomacy Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is an exciting initiative on creating synergies between local/ international innovation stakeholders as well as understanding regulations related to new and emerging technologies. During this internship, I have been able to understand and study closely institutional S&T linkages and the policy paradigms that affect regulations of biotechnology. This experience has added an interdisciplinary mindset to my profile as well.
Additionally, I am also working on publications. A couple of my papers are ready to be published and working on more publications.
Publications
Sattar, S., Nawaz, B., Tahir, A., Ahmed, A., Naeem, M., Ghouri, M., & Jamshaid, M. (2018). Gene action and combining ability analysis of quantitative traits associated with grain yield in wheat under drought stress and normal irrigation conditions. GJBB, 7(4), 642.
Education
Studied general courses of Agriculture for first two years of degree and then studied courses about my major subject that is Plant Breeding and Genetics. Last semester of the degree included an internship which I did at Ayub Agriculture Research institute. My cGPA of this degree is 3.73/4.
Completed a fellowship of career development from Amal Academy that was a project funded by Sandford University of America that teaches professional skills to the students. This course was entirely about professional skills development and career building skills. I won Gold medal from this fellowship.
My masters research was based on wheat. I experiment in Wheat Lab and fields of department of Plant Breeding and Genetics. My thesis title is "Drought oriented Pre-breeding analysis of genetic potential of exotic and indigenous wheat germplasm". I got an high scoring cGPA 3.9/4 during my Masters degree.
Work & Experience
Well renowned Government Agriculture research institute with more than 10 departments currently working Internship: two months (February &March 2018) – Quick learning: Learned 4-5 important techniques like PCR, GMO, ELISA, Hybrid production and Tissue culture technique in short period of 2 months. – Analytical thinking: Analyzed and assembled the project on which I was working along with my supervisor. – Team work: Worked on lab and field breeding techniques along with 6 class fellows.
_ Scientific Experiment: Experimented on wheat for two growing seasons for pre-breeding analysis of wheat germplasm under drought condition _ Hybrid Production: Produced hybrid using exotic and indigenous wheat germplasm _ Scientific analysis: Analyzed the wheat germplasm through analysis of variance, tuckey mean comparison and heterosis breeding
