Currently I am doing job as Chief Accountant & chief Operating Officer in Home Grown Private Limited, I am managing over all audit, accounts, finances and operations of Home Grown (Private) Limited (Agricultural based subsidiary company of Colony Textile Mills Limited). Company is formed & registered under my supervision and overall operations, accounts, audit & finance is also under my supervision. Home Grown is an agricultural company, growing seasonal & off seasonal vegetables through high tunnels and chines greenhouses with drip irrigation system. Further we are also doing mushroom farming (white button mushroom). I am also performed duties as Deputy General Manager Accounts and Company Secretary in Colony Textile Mills Limited.

Responsibilities as Deputy General Manager Accounts: • Lead the import department of company and managing more than seven billion rupees portfolio (Import of machinery, parts and raw material – cotton, viscose, polyester etc.) • Involved in preparation of financial statements for management and for audit purpose as per IAS, IFRS and applicable regulatory rules (frequency - monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly). • Involve with auditor for finalization of quarterly, half yearly and yearly audit. • Performing risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments. • Review and consult the investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks. • Manage banks, vendors and customers relationships • Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports • Month end reporting to management and internal stakeholders for financial performance. • Review monthly reconciliations of banks, customers, vendors and suggest to resolve the issues. • Investigation and reporting to the management of any inconsistencies or improprieties • Maintain accounting controls by preparing recommending and implementing policies and procedures. • Preparing special management reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends. Responsibilities as Company Secretary: • Responsible for all company secretarial functions, duties and responsibilities. • Organizing, preparing agendas for, and taking minutes of board meetings. • Monitoring changes in the business legislative and regulatory environment. • Maintaining statutory books i.e. registers of members, directors and secretaries. • Updating and maintaining all licenses and Companies House records. • Involved in the creation of new companies. • Liaising with external regulators, solicitors and auditors. • Drafting minutes within set timeframes. • Reporting in a timely & accurate manner on company procedures & developments. • Compile all documentation for legal purposes by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence with requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
To plan, execute and manage internal audit activities (including Risk Assets Review) of bank and its branches (including Foreign Operations in Sri Lanka) in accordance with the requirements of COSO framework and SBP guidelines on internal control. Key responsibilities are summarized below; • Monitor the execution of audit of branch on Risk Based Auditing and ensure that audit reports are prepared within planned time lines provided by Region Head. • Review / evaluate “Risk Assessment Data” related to Branches / Management Offices for effective sample selection. • Perform audit for high risk areas assigned to me by Region Head. • Supervision / Guidance of Senior Audit Officer and Audit Officer for identification of major business risks, preparation of working papers and finalization of “Management Action Plan” for discussion with Branch Officials / Management to obtain management comments against audit exceptions. • Reporting of major business issues to the Region Head on a timely basis; liaison during audit with Senior Audit Officer, Audit Officer and Senior Audit Manager for effective monitoring of audit. • Keep abreast of amendments in Internal Control Policies and Procedures / Bank Circulars, laws and regulations and suggest amendments in “Audit Master Data”. • Initiate new ideas and discuss with senior members / counterparts for their implementation / escalation for effective and efficient auditing. • Review of work performed by Senior Audit Officer / Audit Officer. • Coach team members on Risk Based Auditing.
To plan, execute and manage internal audit activities and risk assessment of all clients. Key responsibilities are summarized below; • Responsible for implementation of approved audit program and risk assessment program. • Perform overall audit of accounts and finance department and preparation of audit reports for management. • Validate and review the data of clients and prepare “Risk Assessment Detail Report” of each client. • Discuss audit observations with accounts & finance department and obtain comments on these observations. • Review work of team members to assure that audit work has been properly documented and work has been performed as per audit program. • Be alert for new developments and assess their significance as to audit procedures. • Initiate new ideas and discuss with management for their implementation / escalation for decision. • Prepare a draft audit & risk assessment reports for review by management. • Any other responsibility assigned by Partner.

Key responsibilities are summarized below; • Monitor / review overall audit of clients and preparation of audit reports within budgeted time lines provided by Partner. • Review / validate “Risk Assessment Data of Client” and preparation of “Risk Assessment and Planning” sheet of each client. • Discuss audit observations with management and obtain comments on these observations. • Review work of Team Members to assure that audit work has been properly documented and work has been performed as per audit program. • Be alert for new developments and assess their significance / implication as to audit procedures. Initiate new ideas and discuss with senior members for their implementation / escalation for decision. • Ensure that working paper file is adequately prepared for archiving.
Attained extensive practical experience in the fields of audit, taxation, management consultancy, system designing & development related to various types of organizations. I have gained above valuable experience in various sectors like Construction, Insurance, Financial sector, Stock Exchange, Textile & Composite, Sugar, Food & Dairy, Glass & Ceramics, Tele-communication, Educational & non-profit organization.
