Age Limit
Male: 22 to 28 years + 5 years relaxation = Up to 33 years
Female: 22 to 28 years + 8 years relaxation = Up to 36 years
Transgender: Age and gender will be determined based on CNIC details.
Educational Requirements
Master’s degree (second division) in Chemistry from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Experience Requirements
Preferred: Practical experience in analytical work and treatment of antiquities.
Experience in private sector entities will be accepted if the entity is registered with SECP, Registrar of Firms, or any other regulatory authority.
Skills Required
Expertise in analytical work related to artifacts and historical objects.
Ability to treat and restore antiquities while maintaining their original structure.
Selection Process
Written Test: A 100-mark MCQ-based test (90 minutes).
The test will cover qualification-related questions only.
Role & Responsibilities of an Assistant Archaeological Chemist
1. Conservation and Restoration
Analyze historical objects and recommend appropriate preservation methods.
Use chemical treatments to restore damaged artifacts while maintaining their authenticity.
Prevent deterioration of antiquities by applying specialized techniques.
2. Analytical Work
Conduct tests on artifacts to determine their composition and age.
Identify harmful substances or conditions that may cause decay.
Use modern chemical techniques to study historical materials.
3. Research & Documentation
Maintain records of treatments applied to different artifacts.
Work alongside archaeologists and historians to ensure accurate restoration.
Conduct research to develop improved preservation methods.
4. Site Work
Visit excavation sites to analyze newly discovered objects.
Ensure proper handling and transportation of historical materials.
