Job Responsibilities of an Assistant Director (Engineering) / SDO (Civil)

As an Assistant Director (Engineering) / Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) in Civil Engineering, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Infrastructure Development

Designing and overseeing construction projects for water and sewage systems.

Ensuring the quality and safety of pipelines, treatment plants, and reservoirs.

Managing urban drainage and flood prevention projects.

2. Project Management

Planning, budgeting, and executing development projects.

Coordinating with government agencies, contractors, and consultants.

Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

3. Maintenance & Quality Control

Monitoring and maintaining existing water supply and sanitation systems.

Conducting inspections to ensure infrastructure compliance with engineering standards.

Identifying and resolving issues in drainage and water supply networks.

4. Public Health & Safety

Ensuring clean water supply and proper sanitation for residents.

Implementing measures to prevent waterborne diseases.
