What is IR/QEC and Its Role?

The Institutional Research (IR) and Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) is responsible for ensuring that the university meets academic and operational standards set by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
This department works to improve the quality of education by conducting research, analyzing performance, and implementing best practices.

Key Responsibilities of IR/QEC

1. Reviewing and preparing reports related to HEC-QAA Yearly Progress Targets (YPR).

2. Evaluating reports prepared by Institutional Research Officers (IROs) and verifying supporting evidence from different campuses.

3. Conducting research studies on academic and non-academic aspects of SZABIST to support policy formulation.

4. Developing and publishing various reports such as surveys, Self-Assessment Reports (SARs), and Research and Innovation Performance Evaluation (RIPE) reports.

5. Assisting in the publication of the Annual Report and Course Catalogue for SZABIST.

6. Organizing seminars, workshops, meetings, and conferences to enhance awareness about quality assurance in education.

7. Gathering evidence and reports for university rankings.

8. Ensuring that QEC staff continuously learn new skills and techniques to improve their work.

Job Responsibilities of Assistant Manager – IR/QEC

1. Assisting in the development of reports related to HEC-QAA targets.

2. Reviewing the Yearly Progress Reports (YPR) and ensuring accuracy in the data.

3. Collecting and analyzing information from various campuses to ensure compliance with academic and administrative policies.

4. Helping in the preparation of reports and research publications for SZABIST.
