Role Overview: Assistant Manager BRT Control Centre

The Assistant Manager BRT Control Centre position involves assisting in the management and operation of the Control Centre that monitors and manages the BRT system.

This role is crucial in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, safety, and efficiency, especially in the context of advanced systems like Automated Fare Collection (AFC) and Fleet Management.

You will work alongside the Control Centre staff to maintain high standards of safety and security within the BRT stations and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Assistance: Support in the daily management of the Control Centre operations, ensuring that all systems and processes run efficiently.
  • Surveillance Monitoring: Ensure continuous safety and security surveillance of BRT stations, car parking facilities, and other critical infrastructure.
  • Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with Control Centre staff to coordinate operations, resolve issues, and optimize the performance of the BRT system.
  • System Management: Assist with the management of AFC systems and Fleet Management systems to ensure seamless operations.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of incidents, performance metrics, and system logs to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

To succeed in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum Qualification: A 16-year degree in Transport Planning and Engineering, Electronics/Telecom/Electrical Engineering, Management, or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Preferred Qualification: A Master’s degree in one of the above fields is an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • Relevant Experience: At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in operations, management, or control centre management.
  • Specific Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience working with Automated Fare Collection (AFC) systems and Bus Scheduling/Fleet Management systems.
  • Advantageous Experience: 1 year of experience in a similar role will be considered an added advantage.
