Job Responsibilities of a Civil Judge

As a Civil Judge-cum-Magistrate, you will:

1. Hear and decide civil and criminal cases brought before the court.

2. Interpret and apply laws in a fair and impartial manner.

3. Conduct legal proceedings and manage court operations efficiently.

4. Ensure justice delivery at the grassroots level while protecting human rights.

5. Maintain case records and issue judgments according to the law.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Must possess a Law degree from a recognized university or be a member of the Faculty of Advocates of Scotland.

2. Must be aged between 22 to 35 years as of May 5, 2025.

3. Must have at least 2 years of experience in legal practice as an advocate after enrollment with the Bar Council.

4. Must meet the criteria under Rule-7 of the Punjab Judicial Service Rules, 1994.

Quota & Domicile

1. Applicants must have a domicile in Punjab.

2. 8% quota is reserved for minorities.

3. Seats are reserved for differently-abled persons under Punjab Disabled Persons Ordinance, 1981 (as amended).

Recruitment Process

1. Candidates must pass a written examination covering law and other subjects as per Punjab Government Notification dated April 8, 2025.

2. Candidates must secure at least 40% in each paper and 45% aggregate to qualify for the psychological test and interview.

3. Final interview (viva voce) will carry 300 marks with a minimum passing score of 150.

3. Deposit a non-refundable examination fee of Rs. 5,000 in MCB Bank, Gold Saving Account No. 0785503341001134 titled “Human Resource-District Judiciary.”

4. Submit the hard copy of the online form, original fee slip, and documents by courier to the Registrar, Examination Wing, Lahore High Court, Lahore.

5. The last date for application submission is May 5, 2025.

1. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

2. Examination date will be announced later.

3. Answer books will be disposed of after 3 months from appointment date. No objections will be entertained afterward.
