More than 200 garment and textile brands have signed this initiative, which builds on the 2013 and 2018 Accords in Bangladesh. The program focuses on safety improvements through inspections, remediation, and training programs.

In 2023, the Accord expanded to Pakistan, aiming to enhance worker safety by implementing factory inspections, remediation plans, and worker complaints mechanisms.

Job Details

Position Title: Civil Structural Engineer

Company: Health and Safety Accord Pvt Ltd

Job Type: Full-Time/Permanent

Locations: Karachi and Lahore, Pakistan

Shift: First Shift (Day)

Vacancies: 4

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree (BE/BSc) in Civil Engineering (preferably with a specialization in structures).

Experience Required: 3–5 years of work experience across a range of structural engineering projects.

Skills Required:

1. Proficiency in structural engineering and documentation handling.

2. Strong communication and technical report writing skills.

3. Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and codes.

4. Proficiency in engineering software and tools.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Conduct factory inspections following the Pakistan Accord Building Standard.

2. Prepare detailed inspection reports.

3. Provide engineering support for inspections, remediation programs, and training.

4. Collaborate with factory owners, workers, and brand representatives.

5. Assist in scheduling and coordinating inspection tasks to optimize efficiency.

6. Ensure corrective action plans are finalized and executed within deadlines.

7. Communicate challenges or obstacles to the leadership team.

8. Participate in training and complaints handling departments as needed.
