Job Responsibilities

Community and Social Engagement

As a Community Engagement Associate, you will:

• Act as a liaison between the community and the project team, ensuring all activities align with community needs and expectations.
• Develop and propose initiatives to strengthen community involvement in project objectives, enhancing local capacity.
• Provide technical support for project-related materials and tools, including reports, training materials, and community guidelines.

Research and Documentation

The role also involves significant research and documentation work. Specific responsibilities include:

• Conducting literature searches on current social issues related to project themes and objectives.
• Developing technical reports and briefs that summarize findings and inform project decisions.
• Supporting the Communication Specialist and Social Media Manager by preparing content for web pages, publications, and presentations.

Monitoring and Maintenance

In addition, the Community Engagement Associate will:

• Monitor project protocols to ensure that activities adhere to established guidelines.
• Maintain data sets, manuals, and training materials, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible to project stakeholders.

Requirements and Qualifications

Educational Background

To qualify for this role, candidates should have:

• Minimum Education: 18 years of education in Sociology, Applied Social Sciences, Environment, Anthropology, or Agricultural Sciences from an HEC-recognized university or institute.
• Preferred Degrees: Agriculture Engineering, Anthropology, Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Sociology.

Experience

• Required Experience: At least 3 years of post-qualification experience as a community or social mobilizer in private or public sector organizations.
• Preferred Experience: Experience in donor-funded social sector projects will be a significant advantage.
