The Government of Pakistan seeks a dedicated Environment Sector Specialist to address pressing climate change and environmental issues.

This contract-based role is part of an initiative to advance research, analysis, and project development related to climate change and sustainable development in Pakistan. Key Responsibilities

As an Environment Sector Specialist, you will play a crucial role in research and project formulation within the environmental and climate change sectors. Your duties will involve:

• Analyzing Environmental Data: Interpreting trends in environmental and climate change data to guide project direction.
• Project Development: Formulating new initiatives focusing on environmental protection, sustainable consumption, and production practices.
• Collaboration and Coordination: Working with government bodies, provincial departments, and development organizations to implement and monitor environmental policies.
• Data Analysis: Utilizing specialized software and tools to conduct in-depth environmental research and present findings to support project strategies.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Communicating effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders to drive awareness and advocacy for environmental projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Educational Background

Degree Requirements: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Economics, Environmental Sciences, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, or related fields.

Experience and Skills

• Experience: Minimum of five years in environment and climate change analysis, including experience in project formulation.
• Skills:
  • Strong analytical, communication, and coordination abilities.
  • Knowledge of data analysis software.
  • Familiarity with sustainable practices, particularly sustainable consumption and production.
  • Certification in environmental and climate change analysis is preferred.
• Preference: Prior experience working with government agencies or development organizations.
