Key Responsibilities of a Freight Broker Assistant
As a Freight Broker Assistant, your main tasks will include:
Shipment Coordination & Communication
1. Assist freight brokers in daily operations.
2. Communicate with shippers, carriers, and clients to schedule shipments.
3. Track freight movements and update shipment statuses.
Documentation & Record Keeping
1. Prepare and manage Bills of Lading (BOLs), rate confirmations, and shipment records.
2. Ensure all documents are accurate and up to date.
Carrier Management & Negotiation
1. Help source carriers for shipments.
2. Assist in negotiating basic freight rates.
Data Entry & Reporting
1. Maintain shipment records in Excel or CRM systems.
2. Generate reports on shipment statuses and delays.
Skills & Requirements

2. Basic MS Excel knowledge – for data entry and reports.
