Role of Program Officer (Social Safeguards)

The Program Officer (Social Safeguards) plays a key role in ensuring that all development projects by PMDFC follow social protection policies.

This includes evaluating and minimizing the social impact of development activities and making sure that communities are not negatively affected. This role is especially important when projects involve land use, relocation, or infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct social safeguard assessments to understand the potential impact of projects on people and communities.

2. Prepare and implement Social Management Plans (SMPs) and Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs) if needed.

3. Monitor ongoing projects and ensure they follow social safeguard policies.

4. Coordinate with local authorities, community representatives, and stakeholders.

5. Provide technical input and assist in capacity-building activities for social safeguards.

6. Keep detailed records and reports for project evaluation.

🎓 Qualification Required

1. Minimum 16 years of education in Social Sciences from a HEC-recognized university

2. At least 5 years of experience for candidates with 17 years or more of education

3. Experience must be in social safeguards assessments and analysis, with increasing responsibilities
