Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Medical Officer position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: MBBS degree recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) or Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).
  • Registration: Must be registered with the PMDC/PMC.
  • Experience: One year of regular house job experience.

Important Notes

  • Candidates must have passed their MBBS examination and completed the one-year house job by the closing date for the submission of online applications to the Punjab Public Service Commission.
  • A certificate of full permanent medical registration from PMC/PMDC issued on or before the closing date is required. If the registration certificates have not been issued yet, candidates must provide evidence that they applied for registration on or before the closing date.
  • Candidates who applied for the renewal of their expired registration after the closing date will also be eligible.
  • Provisional PMDC/PMC registration certificates for house jobs will not be accepted.

Selection Process

The selection process includes a one-paper MCQ-type written test of 100 marks, lasting 90 minutes. The syllabus for the test is divided as follows:

  • Qualification-Related Questions: Approximately 80%
  • General Ability Questions: Approximately 20%
    • Topics include General Knowledge, Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Geography, Basic Mathematics, English, Urdu, Everyday Science, and Basic Computer Studies.

Important Note:

  • Candidates must score at least 40% in the written test to qualify.
  • Qualified candidates will be called for an interview in a 1:5 ratio concerning the number of posts.
  • Negative marking is applicable, with a deduction of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in the MCQ paper.
