Job Responsibilities

As a Research Assistant at NASTP, you will play a crucial role in various projects focusing on innovative agricultural solutions and environmental sustainability. Here are some of your main responsibilities:

  • Research and Development: Design and develop microbial soil biofactors, biopesticides, and nano-fertilizers to enhance agricultural productivity.
  • Field Trials: Conduct and analyze field trials for agri-products, ensuring robust experimental designs for testing bio/nano-based materials.
  • Protocol Development: Create protocols for planting, treatment application, and data collection to streamline the research process.
  • Production Oversight: Manage the production of bio/nano fertilizers and oversee planting and treatment applications in field settings.
  • Data Management: Monitor environmental impacts, collect data, and maintain accurate records to support project goals.
  • Computational Modeling: Utilize statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS) and software (e.g., Molecular Docking, FASTA, BLAST) for data analysis and modeling.
  • Public Engagement: Present research findings to stakeholders and participate in discussions regarding project improvements.

Qualifications and Skills Required

To qualify for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Education:
    • MS in Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology, Metabolic Engineering, Nano-technology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, or Chemistry is required.
    • An MBA or BBA with knowledge of agro-markets and value chains is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 1-3 years in product design and development, including experimental and validation plans.
    • Prior experience with nanotechnology products, bio-fertilizers, and pesticide products is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong research, design, and development capabilities in agricultural biotechnology.
    • Leadership in applied research environments is preferred, along with project management and team oversight skills.
    • Excellent public speaking skills and strong work ethics are essential.
