Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Bookkeeping
1. Oversee and manage a team of bookkeepers.
2. Ensure the delivery of high-quality financial information.
3. Identify and implement process improvements.
4. Maintain and review VAT returns, bookkeeping files, and supporting schedules.
5. Resolve internal and external accounting queries.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
1. Prepare financial reports, including FRS 102 1A standard accounts and FRS 105 accounts.
2. Produce draft tax computations and management accounts.
3. Conduct detailed review of timetables and financial data.
Training & Team Management
1. Provide training, guidance, and professional development for the accounting team.
2. Build strong relationships within the organization.
3. Ensure smooth workflow and compliance with UK accounting standards.
Accounting Software & VAT Expertise
1. Proficiency in Xero, Sage 50, and Excel is essential.
2. Good knowledge of QuickBooks (preferred but not mandatory).
3. Expertise in UK VAT regulations, including:
– Cash Accounting
– Invoice Accounting
– Partial Exemption
– Flat Rate Scheme
– Margin Scheme
– Export/Import VAT and Duty
– Property Rules
