The Government of the Punjab is offering an exciting opportunity for qualified professionals to join the Women Development Department as a Specialist in Research & Development.

Job Overview

The Specialist (Research & Development) will be part of the Strategic Planning and Implementation Unit under the development project titled “Strategic Planning and Implementation Unit 2024-27”. The position is contract-based, with the possibility of extension based on performance.

This position is ideal for those with a strong background in research, data analysis, and the application of statistical techniques to drive policies that support women’s development and gender equality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Research and Analysis: Conducting extensive research on social, gender, and policy issues related to women’s development, and preparing data-driven reports.

2. Statistical Analysis: Applying statistical techniques such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and multivariate analysis to gather and interpret data related to gender equality.

3. Report Writing: Drafting comprehensive reports and providing data insights to inform policy decisions, ensuring the information is presented clearly and concisely.

4. Data Visualization: Using tools to create clear graphs, charts, and dashboards that communicate complex data in an easily understandable way for stakeholders.

5. Collaboration: Working closely with other team members, government bodies, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of research with the department’s strategic goals.

Key Requirements

1. Education: A Master’s degree (M.Phil/MS) in Sociology, Gender Studies, Women Studies, Statistics, or Data Sciences from a Government/HEC-recognized university.

2. Experience: At least 3 years of post-qualification experience as a researcher in a leading research organization or similar role.

3. Skills: Proficiency in statistical techniques, report writing, data visualization, and MS Office Suite. Strong communication skills are essential, both written and verbal.
