Qualifications and Experience

This role calls for a highly qualified individual with significant expertise in environmental management. The ideal candidate should meet the following educational and experience requirements:

Educational Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Project Management, with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree (18 years of education) in Environmental Engineering, Sciences, Project Management, or Engineering Management from an HEC-recognized university, with 10 years of experience. A Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) in a relevant field is also required.

Experience Required

  • Extensive experience in management roles focused on environmental matters, particularly in the area of plastics.
  • Skills in managing projects related to technological innovation and recycling, economic incentives and levies, institutional capacity building, and citizen engagement & awareness.

Key Responsibilities

The Team Lead will have a central role in implementing plastic management strategies and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Here is a breakdown of the main responsibilities:

Implementing Plastic Management Strategy

Lead the implementation of the Plastic Management Strategy in line with the Punjab Environmental Protection Regulations 2023, specifically focusing on reducing the impact of single-use plastics.

Achieving Development Program Objectives

Work towards the successful achievement of Development Loan Requirements (DLR) 4-2 and 4-3 as outlined in the Punjab Green Development Program.

Approving Action Plans and Procedures

Approve time-bound action plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for every aspect of the Plastic Management Cell’s function, from licensing to awareness campaigns.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of staff performance, guiding them in achieving the desired objectives.

Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building

Play a significant role in strengthening and building the capacity of the Environment Protection & Climate Change Department (EP&CCD) and the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) in plastic management.

Licensing and Compliance

Scrutinize and recommend final licensing applications for the Environment Protection Agency’s decision, ensuring all regulatory standards are met.
