Job Description

The National Library of Pakistan, under the National Heritage & Culture Division, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Computer Programmer (BS-17) for a permanent position in Islamabad. This role is essential for maintaining and developing the library’s digital infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of its information systems.

Qualification: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (4 years) in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent from a HEC recognized university.

Domicile/Quota: Sindh (Rural) (Open Merit)

Job Duties

As a Computer Programmer at the National Library of Pakistan, you will:

  • Develop and Maintain Software: Write, test, and maintain code for various software applications used by the library.
  • Database Management: Ensure the integrity, performance, and security of the library’s databases.
  • System Analysis: Analyze existing systems and processes to recommend and implement improvements.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for library staff and users.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with other IT professionals, librarians, and administrative staff to support the library’s digital needs.
