Job Description
The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) is set to conduct an examination for the induction of Provincial Management Services (PMS) and Provincial Civil Services (PCS) into the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS). This competitive examination is scheduled to take place from September 23, 2024, to September 24, 2024, in Islamabad.
Vacancies Overview
The examination aims to fill a total of 26 vacancies distributed as follows:
- Punjab: 18 positions
- Sindh (Urban): 2 positions
- Sindh (Rural): 5 positions
- Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK): 1 position
Examination Structure
The competitive examination will consist of:
- Written Examination: 300 marks
- Viva Voce (Oral Examination): 100 marks
The rules and syllabi for the examination were notified vide SRO 274(I)/2021 dated February 23, 2021, and are available on the FPSC website www.fpsc.gov.pk.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this examination, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Service Requirements
- Candidates must be officers of provincial management services or provincial civil services (executive and secretarial services) from the Provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir management group, and secretariat group, district management service, and office management service of Gilgit-Baltistan.
- They must have been recruited directly in BPS-17 through respective public service commissions or provincial recruitment agencies.
- They should have held a cadre post for at least five years and currently hold a post in BPS-19 in their respective or personal pay scales.
Performance Evaluation
- Candidates must have a minimum of seventy-five percent bound out of their performance evaluation reports (PERs).
- They must possess at least three “very good” PERs, with no “average” PERs. The FPSC will make the final decision on the acceptability of these reports.
Disciplinary Record
- Candidates with ongoing disciplinary actions or those previously penalized under federal or provincial efficiency and discipline rules are not eligible to apply.
Character Certificate
A certificate of character (NOC) issued under the signature of Secretary (Services) and counter-signed by a high-ranking officer of the respective provincial government or department is required. The certificate (Annex-A) must be forwarded to the FPSC Secretary within one month of the application closing date.
Examination Centre
The examination will be conducted in Islamabad only.
Examination Fee
Candidates must pay a non-refundable examination fee of Rs.2200/-. This fee is to be deposited in the National Bank of Pakistan under the Head of Account “C02101-Organs of State, FPSC Exam Fee”. Blank Treasury Challan (T.R.6) forms are available on the FPSC website.
Application Process
Application forms will be available on the FPSC website from July 7, 2024, to July 22, 2024. Candidates must:
- Apply online via the FPSC website.
- Print and sign the FPSC Bio Data form.
- Submit the signed form along with all required documents as per the FPSC Rules to the FPSC Islamabad office within five days of the closing date.
